Welcome to StartAgain Therapy! We have provided training, education, leadership, coaching and therapy for a diverse population for over 25 years. We are a group of Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Social Workers dedicated to providing Mindfulness Based Trauma Focused care to those who seek it. We specialize in all substance and behavioral addictions, as well as working with PTSD, Complex PTSD, depression, anxiety and other disorders. Our associates also have a number of specialties beyond this core list, so we hope to have the specific therapist you are seeking amongst our group. We are led by Dr. Dansiger, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified Therapist, who provides direct EMDR therapy services as well as consultation for EMDR therapists, Basic Training in EMDR, and other EMDR special topics workshops for clinicians. Dr. Dansiger has personally trained all of the StartAgain Associates in EMDR therapy and Mindfulness Based practices. His training is rooted in having practiced mindfulness meditation in the Zen tradition for over 25 years including a one-year residency at a Zen Buddhist monastery, and having fully integrated Buddhist psychology into his therapy practice and training philosophy.

Our goal in all the work we do therapeutically is to meet the person where they are and find the right path to healing. Our philosophy is in line with that of EMDR therapy, which posits that the brain and heart heal themselves, and our role is simply to be a facilitator of that process. Our training in mindfulness and EMDR therapy has helped us to grow in compassion and wisdom as to how wen might best be of help. Our experiences as individuals and as a group have shown us the suffering of those who come into the office, the great internal resources of those same people, and the great journey of discovery that we get the honor of witnessing and guiding.

What we hope for you as you enter the practice is that you will find here the space, the safety and the pathway for your healing, whatever that might be. Some will come with deep trauma that hasn’t been addressed, others with problems with addiction, some who need help with their grieving, some who are dealing with a major life transition like career decisions, marriage, birth or death. Wherever you fall in the spectrum, we can work together to do our best to find your path to a happier, healthier life.
